3D Projects
With the interest in digital media, computer graphics and video games, I also found an interest in 3D projects. They allow for a lot of variation in their style and usage in all visual media. The possibilities modern 3D software like blender offers sparks inspiration in me. I am by far means no expert, nevertheless makes it one of my favourite tools for designing and experimenting with its features.
Here I present projects I created in blender, some smaller, some bigger.
Mensa Party Poster
A fun poster with a nod to the StudiWerk Bremen
This design was made for the Mensa Party at University Bremen, that should have taken place on 21.10.2023.The party was organized by the Wohnpark am Fleet e.V., who also organize the “Sommerfest Vorstraße feat. Spittaler Straße”. Sadly the ‘Mensa Party’ had to be canceled last minute, due to technical problems in the cafeteria. One way in which I am involved in the work of the association is by contributing to the designs and media presence of the organization. Even though this was not used in as the main advertisement, stickers of this design were used and a social media post was planned.
For this design I used the standard cup from our Mensa as inspiration. The text and logo on it are based on the design of the ‘Studierenden Werk Bremen’, who also operate the canteen. The cups feature a variation of their logo, as well as the iconic bottom to make them stackable. As we cooperate with them for the Mensa Party, they kindly allowed to use their design in the original and the modified version. The original logo of the Studierendenwerk can be seen on the cups in the background. The cups in the background are created using a particle emitter. They have a certain speed downwards as well as some rotation, which results in an interesting render, which can be seen below.
City Campus Bremen
A new location for the University in the City Center
This project came to be through the course Entertainment Computing. Goal of this project was to create fundamental building blocks of a role playing game.
This started with creating a vision and outline, as well as a little story of a role playing game and a paper prototype that conveys this vision. The video shows a part of my idea of a dungeon crawler RPG. I imagined a rouge-lite dungeon crawler where magic artifacts allow for world changing effects, like time morphing. The story would be placed in an ancient greek setting.
The building blocks that were implemented include movement, animations, an inventory system, a quest system, scene changes, a companion NPC. I also implemented a Flocking system.
